Part of the Learning Nature series, Cloud Canyon presents AI-generated interpretations of the urban wilderness found in Los Angeles’ Griffith Park. Neural networks trained on photographs of these drought-adapted hills produce ethereal visions that merge the city’s desert landscape with digital imagination. The resulting images capture something between the actual scrubland and the machine’s understanding of California’s particular relationship between nature and artifice.
